Kate Recycles at Paralympics

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

I still like this coat.  I don't love it, but I definitely like it, but I particularly like it with a hat.  A hat helps out a lot...

Remember when she wore it to Zara's wedding?  The hat was a statement piece and it looked great!

Before that, Kate wore it when she was still a singleton to a friends wedding.  That hat wasn't quite such hit with me.  It looked alive.  She was wearing one of my favorite lace dresses underneath, though, so points for that!

The lace dress:

We are digressing very quickly.  Back to the Paralympics.  Wills and Kate also attending a reception and she was glittering.  I can't wait for the upcoming royal tour!

Olympics Wrap Up + Kate Wore Old Classic Skirt

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Well, hello to you all!  Halfway through the Olympics I dropped off the planet, I know.  I was really swamped with some other stuff, but I was also kind of bored.  I love seeing Kate, but I didn't want to a blog a separate post for every event she showed up to wearing skinnies, wedges, and some variation on the Olympic apparel polo. BUT, it is high time to emerge once again, because I was just thinking how I miss Kate.  We need a fancy appearance, honestly, but I also like the candid shots.

Twitter, which can be an awesome source of news, or the ultimate stalker's paradise, has delivered once again with a shot of the Duchess shopping in Anglesey for groceries.  Little grainy, but beggers can't be choosers. Kate and William are back to quiet life near his base.  Just the other day I read he had helped to save a young girl who almost drowned trying to save her sister.

There were some great moments in the Olympics that we missed, so let's catch up ever so briefly. This skirt s either a really old repeat or she likes the style.  Kate wore a similar (or the same one) years ago and I absolutely love it.  It actually features in one of my favorite pictures of her from back in the day.

This was classic Kate Middleton. Suede boots, preppy sweater, hair loose, I think those are coach sunglasses.  Relaxed and gorgeous.  Miss this sometimes...

Meanwhile back in the present day, what was going on in this sequence?  I thought this was really odd until I considered the odd faces I pull at sports games...

Kate was at synchronized swimming and look at Prince Albert of Monaco behind her.  Haha, talk about grumpy!

Kate hung out with Harry a lot because Wills had to go back to work.

She looked windswept and gorgeous watching sailing from a boat...

and red shoes...

Kate attended the closing ceremony in the Whistles she wore to the Diamond Jubilee Concert.  Speaking of, what a dreadful closing.  I was so excited for the ceremony because I heard they had built miniatures of famous attractions and then it just turned out very creepy.

Anyway, William and Kate on Royal Tour in September!!  Hopefully, Harry's Vegas indiscretions will blow over quickly...

Olympics: Kate at Three Events

Friday, August 3, 2012

Kate hit up three Olympic events today.  The facts are that Kate will obviously be going casual to all Olympic events, so we can kind of smile and approve and roll on.  When Kate and William were together today the mood was not quite the jubilation of yesterday:

The sports may not have been going so well, but this was the best outfit we saw today.  I like it.  A splash of color, summer polka dots.  Very cute and dressed down.

She was even more dressed down for her other two appearances without William. but looked great nevertheless:

What will she wear tomorrow?

Olympic Joy from Wills and Kate [Hug Update]

Thursday, August 2, 2012

[i want to briefly update with some comments.  Part of what makes this special is that people always claim that Kate is the more affectionate of the two, which in some sense is true.  She smiles MUCH more than William does, and initiates most of the contact, although by no means all.  I think it is pretty clear to any impartial observer that William is just as in love, but naysayers will be naysayers.  Here it is nice to him holding her in what appears to be an excited and unguarded moment.  If you watch the video below you will see that the hug is actually much shorter than the photos make it seem, but still as cute as ever.  Thank goodness for still photography capturing such a special moment.]

These are some of the best Will and Kate photos I have ever seen. The beach photos were up there, and the wedding kind of melted butter, but these are the best to date.  William's enthusiasm- everything is perfect.  Ahhhh! it is almost disgusting... :)

Ok, back to business. William and Kate were at Wimbledon to watch Olympic tennis earlier today.  From a planning perspective, Olympics is no place to waste a new piece, let's be honest.  So she cleverly recycled the blue Stella McCartney and the blue blazer.  Loved it.  She looked great, it was just the right tone, etc, etc.  We all want to get back to the other photos, I know.

After tennis we got THE shots.  The afternoon event must have been quite tense and the excitement of victory overwhelming.  Love these photos.

Kate needed help stepping over a row of chairs as she said hello to a gentleman.  William gave his princess a helping hand...

Just a few more angles.  LOVE it.

Kate at Peter Jones (Old Shot)

Wednesday, August 1, 2012

Well look what popped up on Tumblr.  Pretty much my favorite thing ever, a candid of Kate out and about.  Here she is shopping at Peter Jones, and my favorite part of the picture is the scarf!  I love scarves and loe when Kate wears them.   Best Kate scarf moment goes to this shot:

I pretty much spend every fall, every single year, trying to recreate this look.  Still trying...

Runners up...

Ok, I really wanted to skip this because I have had the laziest 24 hours of my life--not really, but it feels that way-- anyway, quick coverage of Kate and William's visit to the Athlete's Village yesterday.  Same outfits, still looking great.

Someone offered Kate a kangaroo, but she declined.  Harry snagged it.  That a boy.  Bet the girl who offered it is cute.
