Photos of Kate Pregnant in Mustique on Holiday with Middletons

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Here are some of the photos of Kate and William holidaying in Mustique. They are snapped almost every time, and I think it offends William and Kate's intelligence to think they are shocked that these were leaked. Ultimately, it must have been worth the risk for them.

Again, I reiterate that the topless photos published were absolutely offensive crossing a very clear line of decency.  I am surprised there even was an official complaint, unless the papers are blowing the royal response out of proportion.  We all knew there would be photos before they even left! Perhaps, they are trying to capitalize on the shock we all rightly feel about the earlier incident in France, but these scenarios aren't the same and I think it ill reflect poorly on the royals to complain too much. These photos are not a shocking breach of privacy to you, me, or the royals, given the circumstances and I am sorry if anyone is offended.

My comment from facebook:
I have received emails from a few of you complaining that I posted he holiday shots of Kate.  The fact is, every person who follows Kate fuels the demand for these paparazzi photos. You can't pick and choose when you are giving your approval for celebrity status to be applied to Kate. I was and am vehemently against the nude photos of Kate, which were a shocking assault on her privacy and her dignity, but these are not the same and it is ludicrous for anyone to attempt to argue otherwise. Lastly, as a Kate blog, I blog so you can see what I know, hear, and find, and so that you may have faster and easier access to information you may or may not be able to get on your own. It does not seem fair that I should find the photos and view them, but then say I am above letting you see them. That would be unfair and hypocritical at best. My operating procedure has always been to share with you all photos of Kate that I would secretly or publicly be excited to see myself. I looked forward to Mustique shots all week while they were away and so I posted them. This has always been my "platform" and will remain so.

  1. She looks healthy! Little bump, but not too much. I personally don't like pregnant women in bikinis after a point, so I am glad they got this vacation in before that. :)

  3. I love Kate,i really do,but this is getting ridiculous. She doesn't do anything.Literally.She was sick, and that is ok, but she's obviously not any more, and all she does is shopping and vacationing. And people see it.I am afraid taht her public image is changing and not for the better.Palace should advise her about that.

    1. It is the Palace that make's her schedule. So maybe we should get in contact with them and tell them we want to see the Duchess do more engagements.

    2. She works quite a bit behind the scenes for her charities in terms of planning and she has been visiting and mentoring the scouts quite frequently, too. Given she isn't a full-time royal, I tend to think she pulls her weight.

    3. I agree with you Maja M. I don't think Kate does very much either other than shopping, having her hair done and going on holidays. After all this time she is still only patron to 4 charities and supporting the royal foundation. This is beginning to have a negative effect on her public image. I do like Kate but she does need to do more charity work after her maternity leave is over.

    4. Jane,

I love your blog! You have a great writing style and some wonderful photos that I've never seen before. I also like your unique take on the royals - you're obviously a fan but not afraid to call them out when they're being *cough, cough* whiny ;-)

I would actually be curious to hear you expand more on your thoughts on Kate's work so far - I feel like her work ethic has always been a hotly contested topic of conversation, from the days when the press criticized her for not having much of a career during her 20s to the conversations now about whether she's doing enough vacations. My own feelings on this are very mixed. I *want* to be a fan of Kate's because I think she's great when she does meet with people and visits charities. However, I was really disappointed during 2012 when the bulk of her public appearances were things like watching the Olympics, as opposed to events on behalf of charity. What are your thoughts?

    5. Whitney! Thank you! So happy to hear you like the blog! I am so excited to answer your question, but I have so much to say I am going to make it a post. I am a little swamped, but I will write it up in the next week or so!
Lou, I know a lot of people feel the way you do, so I will be interested to hear your thoughts once I lay my case before you all. :)
      Cheers!

    6. Great, I'm really happy you're writing a post on this topic - as I mentioned before, I LOVE your writing style and will be very interested to hear your take.

I do think this is a complex question. First of all, being a member of the royal family is obviously quite constraining - Sophie Wessex tried to maintain a career in PR but that didn't work out, and Chelsy Davy chose pursuing her law career over a life as a royal wife. Second, as people have pointed out before, William is in the RAF and not a full-time royal right now. If Kate was a regular military wife in Wales, it would not be at all unusual if she focused on her home, her marriage, and her kids above pursuing a career.

BUT, on the other hand, we live in a generation where women are engineers, lawyers, doctors, politicians, etc, and expectations seem to have increased accordingly. I know I can't help but roll my eyes a bit when I see press reports on Kate returning to work with a vengeance (ie, two days of appearances spread between two weeks) or when it seems like a big chunk of her job involves attending fun events like concerts, galas, and sports events. I'm in a profession where we regularly pull 60-70 hours workweeks in less glamorous settings (yay, lawyers!) so I'm totally willing to admit that my views are colored by that. I don't think my viewpoint is totally uncommon though - lots of people my age (25) see a 31-year-old woman with a college degree and compare her work schedule to that of other late-20s/early 30s college-educated women. I am, however, totally open to being convinced that the comparison is unfair :-)

Again, thanks for your hard work on this blog, it's super fun to read back through your archive!

  12. I'm so glad to find your blog. I intend to become a regular reader from now on. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are great news but I'm hoping that you will include information on other royals. And how about photos of Pippa's new man?

    1. HI! So happy you liked the blog. I have found keeping up with Kate to be fairly time consuming, so I don't think I will branch into other royals. I want to be as thorough as possible, so you get all the pertinent Kate info, and I don't think I could keep track of all the royals and still have a real life! I do blog about Pippa as well, but ultimately my primary interest is Kate. If I get photos of Pippa from Mustique I will post them, but as of right now, I don't have them. :(
Again, so happy to hear from you and I hope you come back!

  16. Hi Author of http://fromberkshiretobuckingham.blogspot.de

I totally agree with your opinion. Thank you for showing the photos.
Thank you for concentrating the "information".

Afterall, it is a public beach (also other people around and the land is not in their possession). It is likely to be photographed by everybody being around and having a cam or a smartphone.
If you don't want this, stay at home. Totally ridiculous how this couple feels attacked by the publishing of those photos. I think this shows rather their arrogance. It is like making out of a flee an elephant. Disgusting.
Privacy can be usually found at home and not when being on holidays. This is even clear for me as standard human being without celeb status. When I leave my home, there is always a risk of being photographed. But being unknown, the probability is smaller :-) and I can get away.
So, they should stop mixing things and call everything privacy.
Maybe the solution is simpler than thought: Get out more often in public, don't hide, and the media might become tired. Kate, perform more simply.

Regarding the topless photos: Come on. She should have known better given a "famous" status.
I am also sick by the constant comparisons with Diana. Kate is not harassed like Diana, but this constant reference to Diana shall raise a connection which is simply not there. Like it is better to exaggerate a lot before something actually happens.

I think rather crying about those photos, one should wonder why a supposed to be ill Kate does not stay in the UK for holidays, but needs a spoiled vacation on Mustique. On the other side, her engagements were cancelled for the time she was too ill to perform, but a long haul flight is not too exhausting yet? Queer.

The more I hear and read about the live of Kate, I am more disappointed since she clearly shows no sign of taking on the possibilities of her role. She becomes more and more a disappointment for hard working, young intelligent women. Beauty is not everything in life and respect needs to be earned.

Btw, I like your writing style and that your are not being afraid of seeing those royals as well under a fair critical eye (like here http://fromberkshiretobuckingham.blogspot.de/2011/08/paparazzi-pictures-harassment-or-right.html)! Cool blog, I will return. I also like seeing photos I have not seen before elsewhere.
