March 2008--William and Kate Skiing in Klosters

Thursday, March 13, 2014

It looks like we aren't going to get a ski vacation this year from William and Kate. With this trip to the Maldives, (from which they returned today) and the tour starting mid-April, I will be surprised if they are able to fit one in. William and Kate are no strangers to skiing, and the slopes have hosted some significant moments in their early relationship, most notably, when William confirmed his relationship with Kate on the slopes of Klosters with that famous kiss. Since we are all just bumming about waiting to see Kate on Monday, I was thinking about some of the fun little interactions we have seen from William and Kate while skiing. These shots were taken six years ago, March 12, 2008, after the couple had reconciled from the 2007 split and had, much to our chagrin, started to shun the London night scene. Although, it has often been reported that Kate is the better skier, she might not always be the best "on dry land." Here, she bungled her ski equipment and fell behind:

But, she righted them and was all laughter as she caught up with Wills:

I love this last shot. Kate is so happy and just clearly in that cloud 9 stage...which incidentally, it doesn't seem like she has ever really left. They are the cutest. She is the cutest:

This year they traded the snow and ice for crystal blue water and warm sand. If you missed this morning's post, check out lifestyle blogger Peony Lim's beautiful photos of her recent holiday in the Maldives to get a sense of the gorgeous environment and views that William and Kate enjoyed this week.

Looking forward to seeing Kate, and all of you, Monday!!

  1. I love these early pictures of them I agree with you they are the cutest! Kate looks so happy she truly adores William and I don't think there is anything wrong with that because he adores her too!

I'm happy there home I bet they are just dying to see George! I wonder what they will think when they realise there has been such negativity surrounding thier holiday and them leaving George. I personally think its very important that they have couple time to enjoy each other, after all a happy marriage means a happy home and therefore a happy Prince George. I think William said in the engagement interview that he is trying to learn from lessons in the past and I think he is very aware of the fact that he needs to look after kate and take time to strengthen thier marriage so they can be a really happy partnership, umlike his mother father. Wish them the best!! Thanks for the post jane I love this blog!

  3. I fear the pattern has started and until George and future siblings are off to boarding school sightings of kate will be a deluxe vacation here the royal events like garter ceremony and not much more so we have to resign ourselves. She is probably not to be a full time royal

    1. I actually agree with you I think that by the time of George second bday she will announce a second pregnancy, so she probably wont be a full time royal for about another 5 years.

  4. Wasn't the kiss 2006?

    1. By "the kiss," I assume you are referencing their "going public" kiss in Klosters? If so, you are correct, that was in 2006. :)
