Pictures of Kate Walking George in the Park

Monday, August 4, 2014

PopSugar published fabulous photos of Kate walking George in his pram accompanied by Emma Probert, one of her very usual her PPOs.

Within half an hour, however, Popsugar removed the photos and story:

I suspect there was some sort of legal hang-up, either with the Palace or with the photographer. If PopSugar puts them back up, I will alert you and link to the article.

Sorry for the disappointment. :(

  1. Did you see the candid snaps from Government House on their day off in Australia. Heel tapping, PG on her shoulders wonderful photos... hidden on Google add they weren't published anywhere

    1. I did! I loved those, too! I reported on some here: http://fromberkshiretobuckingham.blogspot.com/2014/04/paparazzi-pictures-are-sign-of-vibrant.html

      And here: http://fromberkshiretobuckingham.blogspot.com/2014/04/cambridges-spend-family-day-on-grounds.html

But there were others I saw that were very sweet, as well!

  2. Hey Jane! Not sure if you have a facebook account or not but I follow this group called Duchess of Cambridge News & Style Files and their sister page the British Monarchy Heir and they posted the pictures of George! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.365608046925338.1073741945.134249850061160&type=1 Hopefully you can see those!

    1. Thanks, Alex! I actually saw the photos before the page was taken down, in fact I never closed the window so it is still sitting here on my browser. I suspect it is some kind of legal issue with the palace, although that is just speculation. I doubt they will come live again, but once they hit the web, they spread like wildfire. Certainly people should pop over to this page to see the photos! George is such a cutie!

  3. Hi Jane,

Curiouser and curiouser. The palace can't seem to make up their minds about pap photos. Remember they did nothing about the photos taken of Kate and George in Mustique but now seem to very agressive about any photos taken during the couples down time.

    1. Well, we usually hear when the palace complains, so they may not have here. It could have been something entirely different, but it is very odd that PopSugar would release them as they have released many photos of Kate and other celebrities only to have it taken down. The difference between Mustique pap shots and these is that Kate only goes to Mustique maybe once or twice a year, BUT she walks George all the time. I can see the palace concerned that the precedent is problematic. If we get our yearly pap shot when they head to holiday, they know it will happen, we get our vacation snaps, everyone is happy--they just have to briefly grit their teeth. But, park photos may irritate them more. C'est la vie.

  4. My feeling is that if they are in a public park, they have to expect pictures will be taken. On the terrace or at the swimming pool of a private residence....they is completely off base and off limits.

    1. No one should photograph a child and publish it on the internet, without the parent's permission.

  5. The photos are still up on facebook (British Monarchy Heir), last time I checked.

  6. Methinks the main concern here is candids of a very young George; perhaps someone--read William--freaks out when he sees his son posted on an internet site. It must be said that he has a point; in no way has George given his consent. Further, if candids can be stopped, Kate and George can both continue to use the park--as opposed to being held prisoner within the walls of KP.

It would appear that Emma and Kate hit it off; hopefully, she will continue to protect Kate/George. And speaking of George, in the candid above, I thought he looked a lot like his Dad--this kid may be a chameleon; a few weeks ago, I thought he looked much more like his Mom.

  7. If you search Prince George on Tumblr you can find the whole set of pictures there.

  8. I saw the pictures on Pop Sugar (I believe they are still available at THE HOUSE OF WINDSOR TUMBLR) and also saw a picture of George with his nanny - she isn't pictured. http://www.schweizer-illustrierte.ch/stars/international/prinz-george-geburtstag-fotos-kate-william-schwanger-baby

I can only imagine how angry Prince William must have been to see bot sets of pics (George with Kate+friend and George with nanny).
The pictures of George with Kate can quite be expected. Everyone will recognize her, they are at a public park, she isn't disguised or anything. It simply is expected. Not just by the paps but also by onlookers/followers/tourists whatever.

I'm not so sure about the child with the nanny. She is a private person (albeit one employed by a high profile family) and her concern should mostly be to care about George, not to have to be concerned with the paps/fans/tourists etc. Although I'm sure she is accompanied by a security agent and can handle any "incident" .

  9. I saw them published in "Woman's Day" magazine here in New Zealand. I'm as interested as the next person in looking at them. But I can understand W &C would rather go for a walk in the park without worrying about paparazzi.

  10. Jane, what is your take on the whole "it's hard to envy Kate for choosing a royal life"? You know the loss of privacy and whatnot. I think she quite enjoys it and what's not to like? What do you think?

    1. Honestly, I truly believe it is a personality thing. Some women say that, they deeply mean it, they would be crushed beneath the scrutiny and the privacy deprivations, etc, etc. Some women would relish it and thrive, because they are outgoing or whatever... And some are in the middle. I believe Kate is in the middle. I don't think she courts the attention, I don't think she shrinks from it.

Certainly, when she was dating him out of college I think she enjoyed it. Hard to imagine otherwise. She was in love, she was dating a prince, she didn't grow up with fame, it was a novelty, it was exciting, etc, etc. I would feel that way, too. :)

Now, I think she doesn't care. She is self-confident and she loves William. That's why she is a princess. She loves William and wants to be with him and the rest just really doesn't matter. But, I truly don't believe that the press drives her nuts, ALTHOUGH, there are days when even the most outgoing feel trapped, and we have seen Kate have those days while she was dating William. Days when her patience had run out and she wanted to be left alone. Now she is a royal, she has sooo much more protection.

I am speaking only to paparazzi. Obviously, she cares about her charities and the people who love her, the fans, etc. I truly believe she appreciates the goodwill, etc, and genuinely is responding to it on walkabouts, etc.

Frankly, I think she is incredibly well-balanced, which is a fabulous asset to William. :)
