Cambridges on Half-Term Holiday?

Tuesday, October 24, 2017

Poor Prince George has been experiencing his first tastes of real life. He started school on September 7 and Prince William said shortly after that George wasn't super excited about the every (week)day part of school. His montessori school in Norfolk was, of course, only a few days a week. Nevertheless, as he adapts to the rhythm of pesky imposed schedules, he also gets to enjoy the occasional reprieves. Thomas's Battersea is on half-term break this week, so Georgie has a little vacation time.

Of course, this also suggests that William and Kate have likely seized the perfect opportunity for a family holiday.
There hasn't been a whisper (that I have detected) of any sighting or hint of where the family might be. The couple may have whisked away to the continent, but given Kate won't travel overseas to Finland next month, I cannot imagine they have headed out of the UK.

Nelson's Eye Patch

Far more likely they have stayed closer to home, or should I say, their second home--a getaway to Anmer Hall could be the perfect unwind for Kate after these weeks of misery. The Cambridges loved their tucked away lifestyle in Norfolk [above is Kate shopping in Holt in 2014 while pregnant with Charlotte] and they have a social set up that way, too, so Anmer is certainly a strong bet. And of course, there is always the possibility they are spending time in Bucklebury with the Middletons! Wherever they are (at home in KP for all I know) I hope they are enjoying the half-term.

    2. I like this photo too. Another favorite is a photo of William carrying George. George has him arms around him. Both are in blue. I think it was in Canada at the garden party for children.

  2. As they are such hands on parents, I suspect they will keep engagements to a minimum during school holidays.

  3. I hope so too. Especially William, man he's had a busy Fall. Bringing George to school, doing back to back engagements, trying to comfort an ill wife. He deserves Dad/Husband of the Year!

  6. Have there been reports of sightings of William dropping George off at school/picking him up? I had imagined reporters or photpgraphers would br lurking nearby in the mornings/afternoons...

    1. I don't know about sightings (I'm guessing they've worked all that out with the media) but I do remember Wills saying at an engagement a week or so ago that he had just come from dropping George at school.

  7. Maybe they'll stay right where they are. I kind of like that idea, as it would give the kids the opportunity to check out a cosmopolitan city, with lots to offer; e.g.: the Natural History Museum--Charlotte's never been--, the ZSL London Zoo, Sea Life London Aquarium, movie theatres, children's live theatre, and parks and playgrounds galore. Think it might help "even the playing field", with other kids their age, many of whom would already have experienced same--and it seems likely that Charlotte will enter Thomas's Nursery in January. Doubt that either kid would want to be labelled "turnip toffs",
    after all. LOL

    1. I'm sure Kate has already taken them to many of those places. And as far as labeling them, Turnip Toffs, things could be a lot worse.

  8. My bet is that they are in Norfolk. I'm sure they miss it there very much.

  9. On the off chance you were longing for more work...err blogging...I for one would not mind at all a more detailed look at the summer tour. its not too late! It’s 100 degrees F in CA!

  10. I think it depends on how long term break is and if George has any pals he wants to have play dates with. I'm keeping an eye out for random Kate sightings on Kensington High Street.
