Sneak-Peek: Eugenie's Royal Wedding

Friday, October 12, 2018

Just a sneak peak before the full post this afternoon. The Duchess of Cambridge is wearing magenta McQueen this morning at St. George's Chapel, Windsor. The wind was whipping up a storm as guests made their arrivals, and Kate had to keep a protective hand on her Philip Treacy hat!
As the royal couple waited for the ceremony to start they were holding hands. I love these two and their sweet relationship.

The bride is so stunning! She is wearing a Peter Pilotto gown that is absolutely, drop-dead gorgeous. I am really in love with this dress. It is scoring up there close to Kate's.

I was live streaming for a while this morning (before coffee had kicked in, so dangerous living) on Instagram and I do not expect to get a contract offer to be a live commentator. I did not know the dress ID or the tiara ID, but apparently, this is the Greville Emerald tiara, with thanks to Emily Andrews!

Princess Charlotte is such a doll. She had happy waves for the waiting crowds.

Both the Duke and Duchess of York seemed overwhelmed by the beautiful morning. Congratulations to them all, and I will see you all later this afternoon for a full post.

  1. Classic Kate! Love this rich jewel tone on her and she can't go wrong in signature McQueen. As for Eugenie--stunning. She was the picture of bridal elegance and the dress and tiara felt very true to her. I loved the cut and detail of the gown. It's clear she and Jack are just besotted with each other which is so sweet. And the kids monkeying around, always cute. This wins Windsor wedding of the year for me!

  2. The Duchess of Cambridge wore the same model but in different colour of the Pink dress she had for Trooping the colours in 2017

    1. Looking closely the sleeves are puffed with this one which they weren't in 2017. Imke

    2. It's a combination of the pink dress and this year's blue one.

  3. When Jack put on his glasses to get a proper view of her coming down the aisle...be still my beating heart!

  4. Jack was so nervous and he went red so many different times. It was the most endearing thing. I'll wait until he full post to share all my thoughts but I just loved this wedding for so many different reasons!

  5. Lovely!! Will they get any titles? I know she is a Princess, and I'm assuming that doesn't go away now that she is married. But will they get any other titles? Would she be Princess Eugenie Brooksbank?

    1. They will not. Their new combined monogram contains no coroner, indicating Jack will remain untitled.

  8. I agree with you. I loved Eugenies whole ensemble, from top to bottom she looked magnificent. I would rank it #2 behind Kate's. I think I liked Eugenies tiara better then Kate's. The Emeralds were just WOW

  9. Kate's dress was so pretty! A bolder color choice than I was expecting. I loved Eugenie's entire look! Absolutely stunning. The shoulder detail, the tiara, her hairdo. Perfect for her. Perhaps my favorite wedding look of all time. Does anyone have a link to the full inside wedding coverage? I don't have cable tv so I couldn't see it live and I can only find the outdoor coverage online. Thanks so much.

    1. I would think it will be up on Youtube soon but you might want to check the TLC website to see if they have it available. The ceremony was beautiful and the music was sublime.

    2. Check ITV as well - I haven’t checked yet but it will almost certainly be available on “itv hub” for those in the UK and may be accessible on there to overseas viewers too.

    3. Thank you for your kind response. I've been scrolling through Youtube all morning catching snippets here and there, rewatching in HD where I can find it. Such a beautiful event, I don't want to miss a second.

  10. Wow! I’ve noticed a change, for the better, in Eugeniie’s choices for public events, yet wasn’t expecting a dress, tiara, and overall looking like a beauty had emerged from a chrysalis. Praying Bea tales a few lessons from Eugenie’s make up person.
Can’t wait to see what she wears to the fun party tomorrow.

  11. Lovely couple- beautiful bride- happy families and friends! All the royal ladies and Jack's mum looked great! Great way to wake up today for me!!! Fergie looked great too! Surprised about no veil, but it may resurface in photos- it might've lifted and flown the coop had she worn it this morning. Eugenie looked so beautiful and happy. Cheers to the happy couple!

  12. I absolutely love Eugenie and Kate’s outfits. Here’s hoping we see some Peter Pilotto on Kate :)

  13. I think I'm in the minority here. I didn't like the dress on Kate. To be fair, it's lovely that Kate has moved onto bolder patterns and colors lately, this color is absolutely fantastic. I really wish she would wear more jewel tones like this, but I felt like it was too bold for a wedding. Weddings are tricky, you don't want to outshine the bride. Obviously Kate chose to create this dress from elements of two other dresses, so as to not upstage Eugenie, but I think the color was not occasion appropriate. Also, I felt like there was too much going on with the dress. Like there were too many elements fighting with each other.

    1. Where I live in the US, people still adhere to the rule that female guests shouldn't wear all white/cream dresses to weddings. Of course, unless the dress is lacy or floor-length there's not much chance of confusion with the bride but no one I know would be comfortable breaking that rule or consider it an undue hardship to forego wearing white/cream for one day. I think the prohibition against wearing shades of solid red to weddings has kind of faded where I live (unless it's an Indian or Chinese wedding.) But in the "old days" wearing red to a wedding meant you'd slept with the groom so some people still avoid it! After all, there are lots of other color possibilities.

  14. ". She skirted her tailoring issues by wearing something that was meant to be boxy, and I thought it was a success (although many are speculating she is now hiding the beginnings of a bump. Time will tell).

And this morning UK time, the Royal Family announced a Spring baby. Congratulations!!!!!
